Jawbone are most known for their popular activity tracked called UP. But now the Jawbone scientists have tapped in to something else many love, coffee.
There are plenty of apps on the market for tracking how many cups of coffee you have a day, but most stop at exactly this, just numbers. Jawbone though are too innovative to give us such an app.
Recently i’ve been trying to figure out at what time I should stop drinking caffeine to get a better night’s sleep. I could have saved myself a lot of time and sleepless nights had I known about ‘UP Coffee’ back then.
By tracking your coffee consumption, and any caffeine consumption for that matter, as well as your energy levels and sleep quantity, UP Coffee will analyse how caffeine affects you.
The app calculates your total caffeine consumption, assesses your caffeine metabolism, and lets you know the relationship between your caffeine habits and sleep quantity and quality. In other words, based on your intake for that day, it will let you know when you will be ready to go to bed for a good night’s sleep.
If you’re unhappy with your current sleeping patterns, it will then guide you through a personalized, data-driven behaviour change involving small daily changes to your caffeine intake which will improve your day time energy and night time sleep.
UP Coffee is available for iOS on the iTunes store for free, and looks like a good tool for people like me who love their coffee and their sleep too. (No UP tracker required either).
