Sometimes it seems as though we’re all searching for a magic secret that could dramatically improve some aspect of our life with minimal effort, like a pill that exercises for us or a revolutionary super food that will knock shades of the scales in days. Most of the time we’re searching for something a little too far fetched, but actually for some of us the answer could be closer than we think, and can be found in most kitchens.
The answer is drinking water. Often underestimated, and considered a means to an end, the act of drinking water can be very powerful for our health and well-being.
When we fail to drink enough water we can become easily tired and tense, headaches appear and we put ourselves in a bad mood. Our work performance is affected too, it becomes harder to focus on tasks and carry them out, we’re less alert, more sleepy, and easily confused. Just like on a Monday morning.
In reverse, making sure that we drink water regularly can give us more energy and make us less tired, we’re less likely to fall asleep at our desks, and we’re not as easily confused and bewildered; suddenly answering the telephone becomes as easy as it sounds.
The power of water reminds us that when we have a problem the solution might be simpler than we think, and if the previous scenario of being tired and unable to concentrate sounds like you, then hold the search for the magic supplement for a moment and pay attention to something as simple as how much water you’re drinking.
