Scientists have developed the first ever ‘cultured’ (test tube) beef burger after years of development and work.
Developed using stem cells from the shoulder of a cow the scientists had to create the burger by individually culturing over 20,000 strands of muscle.
Funded by a secret investor (Ronald McDonald?) the project was designed with a source of sustainable food in mind, with far less land requirements necessary to create the food item in comparison to the more conventional way.
Estimations have been made that with manufacturing advancements and further development of the process, such a product could be available to the public within the next 10-20 years after some rigorous testing from the food governing bodies, there’s no need to panic quite yet. After all, it’s not the first unidentified meat you’ve come across in your burgers during the last couple of years…
