Like all addictions, the best way to successfully kick a habit is to gradually wean yourself off it. Quitbit have taken note of this, developing a device to help you quit smoking for good, and it’s not some device that you’ll forget to carry around after two days, because it’s actually a lighter.
The Quitbit lighter lights your cigarette using electricity like a car lighter. This is so it can track how many times you light up for a cigarette every day. The lighter has a digital display and tracks how many you’ve puffed away on and when.
This is so you can program your lighter to set goals, such as the number of cigarettes you can have a day. When you reach your limit, the lighter will automatically disabled itself so you can’t light another cigarette until the next day.
If you synchronise it to your smart phone then you can view all your habits like how much you spend per week on cigarettes, when you have cigarettes so you can try to identify triggers for wanting one, and how long its been since your last cigarette so you can challenge yourself to hold on for a little longer.
This is a new technology designed by smokers for smokers, not some mad scientist who does’t understand how hard it can be to quit smoking. When it’s released this will be a great way to help smokers gradually reach their goal of quitting smoking completely for good.
