One of the problems with the uptake of wearable technology is that it’s often in the form of a wrist worn device, which you can forget to put on, or worse still you don’t wear on purpose because it doesn’t match your outfit.
SmartMove have come up with a tracker which overcomes these barriers, because quite simply you just need to put your shoes on and get going with the day. That’s because SmartMove is a shoe insole which incorporates activity sensors which can wirelessly transmit information to your smart phone.
Through the smart phone app, SmartMove coaches you throughout the day, letting you know if you’re doing a good job, or reminding you that you’ve been sat for a while and could do with a walk around. It also stores all of your activity data so you can see how active you have been, how many calories you’ve expended, and whether or not you’re on track towards your goals.
SmartMove is going through its last stages of development, and will initially only be available to customers in the US until it meets regulations for EU countries.
