Glance has taken a different approach to most activity trackers on the market, allowing any watch to be turned into a smart watch.
Glance is an accessory that gives the user numerous smart functions, without them having to wear it as part of a separate band or strap. Glance tracks activity, notifies the user of incoming calls and texts and can be used to locate the users phone, it even has a smart function and can be used to as an air mouse or a controller for a smart TV.
Although Glance isn’t the most pleasing to the eye, it beats most other wearables on price, at just £40. However you can’t help but question how secure the device will be just slipped under a watch strap, it might not be so suited to intense activity or sport.
Even though Glance comes with a leather strap so it can be used alone, I can imagine those who purchase Glace will only do so to specifically turn their own watch into a smart watch. Despite Glance identifying a gap in the wearable tech market there are many products with similar functionalities and more aesthetic designs, such as the Pebble watch and with the iWatch rumoured for release this year, standard watches may even become a thing of the past…
Glance are currently running a kickstarter campaign, where they are hoping to fund its release later this year.
